Cyperpunk is a futuristic society with a low life people. Kinda think of star wars, the civialization is very advanced but the people are kinda worthless, for a lack of a better deffinition. Like the people in The Stars My Destination, are very advanced compared to us, I mean they can teleport, live on different planets, travel space, most technology that we use now is obsolete in their time. Overall though the people are still kinda low lifes, i mean they still do things like steal, cheat, rob others and murder, and they have massive places to store criminals like them, all over the place. This novel is deffinetly apart of the genre because they cant juante, that is all you need really to be more sophisticated then us. But the novel falls short in the aspect that like for instance the surgery that they performed was very primitive because it could have killed him.
